  • Lane Is Awarded $108 Million Contract for I-85 in North Carolina

    The Lane Construction Corporation was recently awarded a $108 million contract to build the final section of the I-85 widening project in Rowan and Cabarrus Counties.

    Lane has previous experience in the area, completing the award-winning I-85 widening in Cabarrus County and the I-485/I-85 Interchange projects. Lane is also currently working on I-485 in Mecklenburg County.

  • Cheshire’s Lane Industries Being Bought by Italian company

    November 12, 2015


    MILAN – Cheshire-based Lane Industries, one of the top federal contractors for roads and highways, is being bought by Italian infrastructure group Salini Impregilo, it was announced Thursday. Salini Impregilo’s board has approved the acquisition for about $406 million in a deal that creates a group with sales of 6 billion euros ($6.4 billion), the Italian company said in a statement. The deal is pending approval by Lane shareholders, with closing expected in January.

    CHESHIRE, CT – Lane Industries Inc., a top federal road and highway contractor, plans to be acquired by an Italian infrastructure group, the Cheshire company announced Thursday. The deal is not expected to affect the firm's employees, according to a Lane Industries spokeswoman. The parent of The Lane Construction Corp. and Lane Worldwide Infrastructure Inc. stated in a news release that it has entered into a merger agreement with Salini Impregilo Group, based in Milan, Italy.
