Construction Aggregates
In many states Lane owns material resources including sand and gravel pits and rock quarries. These reserves are carefully mined in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations to ensure maximum benefit from the resources with minimal disturbance to the environment and the community. Material is typically crushed, sized and washed to provide the building blocks for other construction materials such as Portland Cement concrete, bituminous concrete or road base materials. All these materials in some way are eventually used to improve our infrastructure and way of life.
The environment is an important consideration to us in the manufacture of construction aggregates.
Reclaiming land at our sand and gravel pits and quarries is an ongoing activity. Areas that have been mined are graded and planted with grasses and plants to control erosion and return the land to a natural state.
