Kansas Motor Speedway

Owner: International Speedway Corporation
Location: Kansas City, KS
Project Cost: $19.5 million

Project Type: Plants and Paving  |  Procurement Type: Design-Build
State: Kansas  |  Status: Completed

The project in Kansas City includes repaving the existing track, reconfiguring the oval and adding a new infield road course.

Working six days a week, Lane completed this project prior to the Hollywood Casino 400 race which took place on October 21, 2012. A week after the project began, milling was well underway and approximately half the road course had been excavated.

This is Lane’s ninth NASCAR project since 2003. Most recently, the high-profile and complex reconstruction of the historic Daytona International Speedway track was finished in late 2010. Lane is widely considered the racetrack paving company of choice, using unique equipment and highly skilled workers to create complex turns and slopes, some up to 33 degrees. Lane used a boom attachment to their D-8 bulldozers to re-pave the turns.
