CHARLOTTE, NC –The Lane Construction Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Webuild Group, has completed the $181 million design-bid-build Phase III extension of the 183A Phase III project in Williamson County, Texas.
The project, commissioned by the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, included the addition of two tolled main lanes in each direction along a 5.3-mile segment from Hero Way to North of SH 29 and construction of a Shared Use Path from Hero Way to the Seward Junction Loop. The extension of the 183A Toll Road included the construction of 17 bridges, two of which span the South Fork San Gabriel River.
The project was in support of the expected unprecedented growth in Williamson County, especially in Cedar Park, Leander, and Liberty Hill, where traffic volumes along US 183 are expected to increase by 183% between 2017-2042. The project will help alleviate future congestion and reduce driving times for commuters.
With a strong track record of executing large-scale transportation projects from start to finish, Lane continues to demonstrate its ability to meet rigorous standards while enhancing mobility, supporting regional growth, and delivering lasting value for communities and transportation agencies nationwide. Other key projects around the United States include the I-77 Exit 26 New Interchange in South Carolina; the I-275/SR 60 Westshore Interchange in Florida; and the I-85 Widening and Reconstruction project in Gaston County, NC. Earlier this year, Lane celebrated the ribbon cutting for the 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (NEXT) in Virginia and opened a new lane on Florida’s Turnpike Widening project nearly three years ahead of schedule.
The synergy between Webuild and Lane is a defining competitive advantage for the Group in North America. Lane’s more than century-long presence and deep understanding of the U.S. market, combined with Webuild’s proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure across more than 50 countries, create a powerful platform for executing large-scale projects. Together, the two companies leverage world-class engineering expertise, operational excellence, and innovation to deliver sustainable value for clients and the communities they serve.
