Robert E. Alger

President & Chief Executive Officer

Bob has been in the construction industry for more than 35 years, all with Lane. The combination of his executive expertise and standard of excellence has been instrumental in the growth and success of the company. Since assuming his Presidency, yearly revenues have nearly quadrupled. The company’s domestic geographic footprint has also vastly grown, as Lane went from a company located primarily in the Northeast part of the United States, to now being a U.S. construction leader. Noteworthy awards include the Outstanding Project and Leadership (OPAL) Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2013, and the Moles Award for Outstanding Achievement in Construction in 2011.

Michael M. Cote

Executive Vice President - Chief Development & Strategy Officer (1986)

Mike is a 33-year veteran employee of Lane and has extensive contract experience. He started his career with Lane as a Job Engineer in Bangor, ME, and has been promoted throughout his career. Mike currently sets the company’s overall business strategy, and oversees Lane’s business development group, whose goal is to pursue large bid-build, design-build, and public-private partnership (P3) projects. Mike is a past Chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and is on the Board of Trustees for the NAPA Research and Education Foundation. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and The Moles (NYC heavy construction group).

 

Kirk D Junco

executive vice president - chief of operations and process management (1979)

Kirk is a career employee with Lane, joining in 1979 and rising from the position of Job Engineer to his current role as Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations and Process Management. In this role, Kirk works to ensure operational excellence at Lane. He directs the development of the company’s overall processes, procedures, and best practices to align with Lane’s business strategies, and closely monitors their successful implementation. Kirk is also the President of Lane Infrastructure, Inc. and has oversight of Lane Construction’s sister company, Lane Power & Energy Solutions.

Gianfranco Catrini

Executive Vice President - Chief Operating officer - corporate (2018)

Gianfranco came to Lane from Salini Impregilo Group, Lane’s parent company. He spent 22 years at Salini Impregilo, starting in the field on a project in Pakistan. He worked on projects around the world and eventually held several management positions, including Group Finance Director UK in 2002, Managing Director of Impregilo International Infrastructures NV in the Netherlands in 2008, and Managing Director of Fisia Babcock Environment GmbH in Germany in 2009. He also sat on the boards for several Group companies internationally. In 2012, Gianfranco was appointed Director, Corporate Development, responsible for selling non-core activities and acquiring new assets including the acquisition of Lane in 2016. Since 2016, Gianfranco is responsible for all mergers and acquisitions of the Group, the management of non-core activities and subsidiaries, as well as all activities for the integration, coordination, and control of Lane. In January 2018, Gianfranco joined Lane as Chief Operating Officer – Corporate and Executive Vice President.

 

Giuseppe Quarta

Executive Vice President & Chief operating officer, p3, large projects, tunneling (2016)

Giuseppe worked his whole career for Salini Impregilo, Lane’s parent company, prior to becoming an officer of Lane in 2016. His 35 years of international experience includes projects in Latin America, North America, Asia, and Europe in hydropower, tunneling, transportation, and water resources. He became Area Director for Salini Impregilo in 2007, responsible for the company’s U.S. operations (as well as for other countries). Immediately prior to joining Lane, Giuseppe was the Chief Executive Officer for the consortium building the new Third Lane Panama Canal expansion. Giuseppe is currently providing executive oversight for Lane’s P3/Large Projects and tunneling work.

Mark A. Schiller

executive vice president - chief operating officer - plants/projects (1989)

A career employee with Lane, Mark was hired as a Job Engineer assigned to Lane's mass transit project in College Park, Maryland right out of college. He was promoted to Project Engineer within the Maryland/Virginia area, became a Regional District Manager of the Mid-Atlantic region, and eventually became responsible for Lane’s Plants and Paving segment, nationwide. In his current position as Chief Operating Officer – Plants/Projects, Mark is responsible for the overall management of Lane’s plant and project operations.

 

Mark J. Tomkalski

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (2006)

Mark came to Lane in 2006 with a decade of previous accounting, auditing and corporate financial experience. Prior to coming to Lane, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and had provided services to Lane for annual audits. Since joining Lane, Mark has risen from Manager of Financial Reporting and Budgeting to Assistant Vice President and Controller to Vice President of Finance to his current position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

 

David F. Benton

Executive Vice President, techincal SERVICES (1977)

Dave is a career Lane employee with more than 40 years of construction experience. He is well-versed in the construction industry having worked on both the contract and plant sides of the business. During his tenure with Lane, Dave began as a foreman and worked his way to his current position of Executive Vice President – Technical Services. In this position, he has oversight of all estimating and pursuit activities, and is also responsible for the mechanical and safety functions for the company.

Seth T. Firmender

Vice President - General counsel & chief compliance officer 

Seth has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. As General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, he oversees Lane’s legal and compliance functions. Prior to joining Lane, Seth practiced construction law nationally and was general counsel of a leading western heavy highway company. Seth’s legal experience is broad, including trial work, claims, banking and finance, legal and governance, regulatory and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate.     

Michael F. Grabarek

Vice President of Human Resources (2012)

Mike has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources. His background includes leadership and employee development, recruiting, area HR, and change management. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Engineering. Mike holds multiple certifications including Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Newfield Coaching certification (NCC), DISC, Harrison Assessments, and GROW Coaching. He joined lane in 2012 as the Director of Organizational Development and became Vice President of Human Resources in 2018.
