Robert E. Alger

President & Chief Executive Officer (started SERVICE in 1979)

Bob’s 35-plus-year career in the construction industry began and continues to flourish at Lane. The combination of his executive expertise and standard of excellence has been instrumental in the growth and success of the company. Since assuming his Presidency, revenues have nearly quadrupled, totaling over one billion in volume. The company’s domestic geographic footprint has also nearly tripled, as Lane went from a company located primarily in the Northeast to expand to the Southeast, South Central, and Midwest of the United States. Noteworthy awards include the Outstanding Project and Leadership (OPAL) Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2013, and the Moles Award for Outstanding Achievement in Construction in 2011.

Kirk D Junco

Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President (1979)

Kirk is a career employee with Lane, joining in 1979 and rising from the position of Job Engineer to his current role as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer, Kirk works to ensure that company operations remain in constant alignment with financial, safety, and environmental objectives. He directs the development of the company’s overall goals and corresponding performance measures, and closely monitors the successful implementation of Lane’s business strategies. Kirk is also the Director of Lane Worldwide, which is located out of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Mark J. Tomkalski

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (2006)

Mark came to Lane in 2006 with a decade of previous accounting, auditing and corporate financial experience. Prior to coming to Lane, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and had provided services to Lane for annual audits. Since joining Lane, Mark has risen from Manager of Financial Reporting and Budgeting to Assistant Vice President and Controller to Vice President of Finance to his current position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Michael M. Cote

Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer (1986)

Mike is a 32-year veteran employee of Lane and has extensive contract and plant operations experience. He started his career with Lane as a Job Engineer in Bangor, ME, and has been promoted throughout his career. Mike currently oversees Lane’s revamped business development and pursuit groups, whose overall goal is to pursue design-build and public-private partnership (P3) projects. Mike is a past Chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and is on the Board of Trustees for the NAPA Research and Education Foundation. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and The Moles (NYC heavy construction group).

David F. Benton

Executive Vice President, Operational SERVICES (1977)

Dave is a career Lane employee with more than 35 years of construction experience. He is well-versed in the construction industry having worked on both the contract and plant sides of the business. During his tenure with Lane, Dave began as a foreman and worked his way to his current position of Executive Vice President, Operational Support. He is also Vice President of Lane Worldwide, which includes Lane’s offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Giuseppe Quarta

Executive Vice President (2016)

Giuseppe worked his whole career for Salini Impregilo, Lane’s parent company, prior to becoming an officer of Lane in 2016. His 35 years of international experience includes projects in Latin America, North America, Asia, and Europe in hydropower, tunneling, transportation, and water resources. He has been Area Director for Salini Impregilo since 2007, responsible for the company’s U.S. operations (as well as for other countries). Immediately prior to joining Lane, Giuseppe was the Chief Executive Officer for the consortium building the new Third Lane Panama Canal expansion. Giuseppe is also the president of Lane’s subsidiary, S.A.Healy Company, a national leader in mechanized tunneling.

Michael F. Grabarek

Vice President of Human Resources (2012)

Mike has more than 27 years of experience in Human Resources. His background includes leadership and employee development, recruiting, area HR, and change management. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Engineering. Mike holds multiple certifications including Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Newfield Coaching certification (NCC), DISC, Harrison Assessments, and GROW Coaching. He joined lane in 2012 as the Director of Organizational Development.

Joseph P. Lark

Senior Vice President & Assistant Secretary (1986)

Joseph is one of Lane's senior management personnel with special emphasis on public-private partnerships (P3s), projects that involve alternative financing, and projects for private clients. He has been in charge of projects ranging in size from a few million dollars to over $1.5 billion. He is a career employee at Lane who, through his results on projects, has maintained Lane’s quality reputation and has grown to be responsible for major complex projects. Joseph currently oversees Lane’s P3/Major Projects segment, which encompasses P3, construction joint venture, and major design-build projects.

David J. Rankin

Senior Vice President & Assistant Secretary (1990)

Dave has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with expertise in management of design-build projects nationwide. As a Senior Vice President of Lane, he provides executive oversight for all of Lane’s bid-build projects and all design-build projects below $200 million in construction cost. Dave oversees a team of District Managers who provide project management for highway, bridge, heavy civil, airport, and mass transit projects from along the east coast of the United States to as far west as Texas. His previous experience at Lane involved project management of highway and bridge design-build projects primarily located in the Carolinas.

Mark A. Schiller

Senior Vice President & Assistant Secretary (1989)

A career employee with Lane, Mark was assigned to Lane’s $28 million mass transit park project, College Park & Berwyn Line in Maryland, right out of college. He was promoted to Project Engineer within the Maryland/Virginia area, and was then promoted to Plant Manager. In 2003, Mark was promoted to District Manager of the Virginia Paving Company, a Division of The Lane Construction Corporation. In 2008, Mark was once again promoted to Regional District Manager of the Mid-Atlantic region, and in 2013, he was promoted to Regional Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Mark is currently a Senior Vice President and Assistant Secretary, overseeing the Plants segment of the company.
